beautiful Carolina Dog

The many faces of our Beauty Queen

When our Carolina Dog, Schatzie girl passed away last month I felt like the grief was once again going to consume me. I felt this way after Meshach our Dane passed away, our Neo Mastiff Shadrach passed away and my when my only sister passed away. This message today is about how we have dealt with our grief and how I carry on Schatzie’s legacy of true “in the heart” love!

She and I had a special bond and I share that bond in the podcast below. I am carrying on the tradition of In the Heart with our American Bully King now. He seems to totally understand. I’m not sure why I never did that with him before – I guess it was just my special thing with Schatzie but I’m sharing it with him now.

To help ease our grief I created an essential oil blend I learned about from Young Living Diamond, Alana Bookhout. She sent it to me after my sister died. I don’t know the exact recipe so I just created my own. She used Frankincense, this time I used Sacred Frankincense and I’m really glad I did.

Here’s what I put into this bottle blend:

essential oil blend for grief

My YL roller blend I use for grief

25 drops of Cypress (so we can release the tight restrictions we feel in our bodies as we grieve)
15 drops of Sacred Frankincense
7 drops of Joy blend
And then I filled it the rest of the way with V6

***Please note that the only essential oils I use, discuss or reference on this website are Young Living Essential Oils***

I’ve been applying to myself and King multiple times per day – he is deeply grieving and I’ve seen it helping him. And Donnie has used it also. He’s very quiet and introspective too.

I’ll keep using it until all I have are the sweet beautiful memories of our precious girl. I hope this helps you. 😘💖😘💖

Alana called this blend Joy Comes in the Morning. Taken from scripture Isaiah 61:3, “To provide for them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Additionally you may prefer to diffuse this blend in your aromatic diffuser. To adjust the amounts for that I’d use:
4 drops of Cypress
3 drops of Sacred Frankincense
1 drop of Joy blend

I hope this helps and encourages you in your own journey through grief whether your loss is human or animal or both.
