Lesson 8 Chapter 3
When one part in our body is out of balance, out of tune, out of harmony it is like an instrument being out of tune. It needs a “tuning fork” to get into the proper pitch to function correctly. If you’ve ever listened to someone sing out of key or an instrument that needs to be tuned you’ll understand how awful that can sound.
All it takes for a symphony to sound badly is to have one instrument out of tune. If someone sings out of key in a chorus it makes the entire chorus look bad. If one thing is out of tune in our body the same thing holds true – it doesn’t function up to par.
There are a variety of “tuning forks” for the body but the primary one that we have chosen to focus on for this class is essential oils*.
Music itself can be a tuning fork or cause disharmony - it depends upon the music. Harmonic music with pleasant sounding chords of piano, strings and cellos whose size and reverberating chamber produce tones that resonate within the body to provide overtones and undertones that resonate sympathetically. The higher purer tones of the flute create a sympathetic resonance which reverberates into deeper levels and the responses can be in the range of pure joy and happiness. These vibrational reactions in the body release hormones that rid the animal or person of stress, elevate their mood and provide a sense of well being. This is called entrainment - the process by which sound affects the rhythms in the body causing it to vibrate at the same frequency as the sounds it is experiencing.
We use essential oils* to keep our bodies vibrating at the right frequency for wellness. This goes for animals and plants as well.
Composer, Robert Boyd states: “...that all too often an animal’s ability to appreciate music is underestimated. Animals are very responsive to sound. Dogs are walking ears and noses and it is well known that they hear higher frequencies than humans. They have a better range of hearing not so much in the low frequencies, but in the high. You can drop a pin close enough to a cat and its ear will twitch towards that noise which you wouldn’t have heard at all.” ~Robert Boyd Music
The videos in this lesson can give you a tangible feel for what a "frequency" is or does. The video at the beginning of this lesson uses water to show frequency. Considering humans consist of 60-75% water (depending on who you ask or resource - and lets not forget the plants and animals as well), it stands to reason that frequencies matter.
"Essential Oils are like notes played by an instrument. The pitch is a term referring to what note we hear on the musical scale…Essential oils all emit a spectrum of frequencies that come from the bonds between elements comprising the molecules of their compounds. Each molecule is like a tiny stringed instrument where the bonds between the atoms of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen act as strings of different pitches, just as a guitar or a harp has several strings of different pitches each with harmonics and overtones of their own. The frequencies of our bodily organs and tissues range from Hz to MHz while the frequencies within the cells and molecules in our bodies and the molecules of oils range from MHz to GHz and even to THz…Living organisms broadcast, receive, and employ many frequencies in the MHz range, and do so constantly and continuously as a matter of the the way living things exist and maintain themselves". ~Dr. David Stewart
