This week’s podcast is on the topic of pet food recalls that have been happening repeatedly for a long time. The point of even re-sharing an audio from 2011 now in 2024 is to show how NOTHING has changed except the deception has increased. This is a three-part series. They will each be posted to THIS blog post!

Typically, I have done these pet food shows for so many years, as I said above – it’s the same old thing over and over again. We had a huge pet food recall in 2007. Back then, we were often asked, when are the pet foods going to be safe for our pets again? My co-host/colleague/BFF/business partner Dr. Jeannie and I always said, they never were and never will be. They were never intended for that reason. Rather than go into all of that again, because this is what I’m going to share with you today, this three-part series will answer or address all of this. I can assure you not much has changed, and in fact I believe has only gotten more deceptive in labeling as more and more wake up to the truth behind all of this.
As I said, this was recorded in 2011, and yet here we are in 2024, and with zero surprise, there are recalls happening again.
It’s a recycled thing. There is nothing new under the sun as King Solomon said in scripture. This just keeps and continues to keep happening because of the reason why kibble/canned pet “food” (actually they’re food-like products) was even created. We go into why pet food was created in this series, and why it’s causing harm, and why this crapple won’t ever be safe. I have a graphic here that I’m going to start with from www.thelightofdog.com. It’s a great graphic! It says here that kibble needs to be carbohydrates to be kibble. And by the way, regardless of who says what, dogs are carnivores. They’re not omnivores, and they don’t need all these carbohydrates in their diet. In fact, that’s what’s causing a lot of their health issues.
Lots of information is available on that nowadays. Of course there’s always disinformation out there too, isn’t there? Depends on which side of the coin you’re looking at it all from, and who stands to benefit. But it says here, kibble and canned foods are generally cooked between 230 to 350 degrees, which creates compounds that are proven to cause cancer, not to mention getting rid of anything of any nutritional value. So they’re going to spray on synthetic ingredients that the body recognizes only as toxins. They can then call it vitamins and nourishment, but it doesn’t make that so. Synthetic ingredients are not something the body’s ever going to accept or receive as something healthy for us. There are also such things as anti-nutrients. Grains and non-grain binders contain anti-nutrients that are scientifically linked to health conditions such as pancreatitis, leaky gut, diabetes, and obesity.
This list goes on and on. I’ll let you read that. There are other memes/graphics that name all the pet food companies that have been part of the most recent recall, including the one that is selling the veterinarians the kibble they will sell you as prescription diets, and they’re proving that the ingredients in those prescription diets are no different than the ones you buy at the supermarket. That should tell you something.
Additionally, there was another article that came out just recently on Dr. Becker’s website, Barks and Whiskers, and it’s titled, Antifreeze-like Ingredient Found in Pet Treats Latest Recall. This is for commercial cat treats. The ingredient that is causing the harm is propylene glycol. If you’ll look at some of the food items that you buy, maybe ice cream and other things like that, you’ll find that ingredient in our food products too. This is not good for any of us. Not for our pets, not for us at all in any way, shape, or form. (Sidenote: Unless you subscribe to Dr. Becker’s newsletters, you can’t read them in their entirety).
The FDA recalled these commercial cat treats because this chemical has been banned for use in cat food and treats. Not human food that I know about, but cat food anyway. It can cause a condition called Heinz body hemolytic anemia in cats. Toxic levels for propylene glycol have not been established in dogs. This ingredient is in a lot of things, human and animal food. Start reading labels, you’ll see.
I know when I noticed it in ice cream, I figured out that’s why I was having asthma-like attacks (was even treated for asthma) every single time I ate anything with that ingredient in it. Our bodies give us warning signs. Now imagine our animals who are also receiving those same signs but they have no way of controlling that or telling you to STOP IT! So I’m telling you! It’s not good. That’s all I got to say about that. Even if the toxic levels haven’t been determined in dogs, I’m sure it’s no better for them or ANY animal or person for that matter. It should NEVER have been introduced into the food system to begin with. We need to REALLY lift the veil and look to see why this is all being allowed and for what intents and purposes. Call me a conspiracy theorist and I’ll say, “NO, I am a conspiracy REALIST!” My eyes are wide open NOT wide shut just so I can pretend that everything we’ve ever been brainwashed to believe is true. NO!

I’m really glad that I have these recordings and this information with her so that it can still continue to be shared from our former long-running podcast, Animal Talk Naturally. (2005-2018)
PART ONE
In this episode, Dr. Jeannie and I, disseminate the lies and share the truth. We just took the news and started doing some ripping. Some ranting. Ripping, tearing, shredding, pulverizing like our dogs and cats do when they eat. It is a machine. It is a cartel that’s out there working overtime with their billions of dollars. Rather than putting it into real healthcare and nourishment for animals, they’re spending the money so that they can be this billion dollar industry. And they’re helping the veterinarians as well because the dogs and cats get sick from eating the kibble. So where do they end up when they get sick? The veterinarian. They have teeth, they have dental problems. That’s right. That’s why they’re all in a big conglomeration now, guys. Wake up.
